“An AI of Our Own” (AAOO) is a 3-year initiative by Living Arts International that aims to create AI systems that better preserve diverse cultural heritage, going beyond traditional Western documentation methods to build an inclusive digital future.
Launched in spring 2024, AAOO conducted research on digital heritage and AI in Asia and Africa. A working group of 6 members is developing a manifesto to guide the project’s pilot case in Cambodia.
We are seeking a Project Coordinator to build the AAOO consortium and advance the pilot case, and a Fundraising Coordinator to secure grants. For details, please contact gillian@cambodianlivingarts.org.
