(Closed) 2025 Mobility Grant- Curated Experience for the Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting

This year Cambodian Living Arts (CLA) is delighted to offer THREE places for the Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting (BIPAM) in Bangkok, Thailand, happening in person from March 12th– 15th, 2025, inclusive of travel dates. Mobility Grant program is mainly created to support art and cultural practitioners from all disciplines (Film, performing arts, visual arts, writing communities. to develop ideas, networking, and skill through participation in the training course, workshop, conference, festival, research​ presentation, art, and culture residency.

In collaboration with BIPAM, our program is designed to specifically support the performing artists, particularly those whose practices are dance and theatre The program provides access to new experiences and opportunities for exposure, helping them deepen their understanding of regional practices and opportunities. By learning about diverse cultural approaches, artistic methods, and production styles from the region, artists can broaden their perspectives and gain valuable insights that inspire innovation in their work. It ultimately contributes to the dynamic ecosystem of the performing arts in Cambodia.

We want to support those who haven’t accessed this opportunity before. The long objective of the “Mobility Grant” is for Cambodian art development, especially, focusing on experience exchange, and capacity building for artists and cultural researchers.

There will be two key aspects during the 3 full-day program:

  1. Experiencing and learning through the BIPAM Two full days will be dedicated to our grantees for full engagement and learning during the Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting. Activities will include watching performances, attending the exclusive artist talk sessions and discussion, and interacting with artists and organizers.
  2. Exposure to the Bangkok Local Art Scene: This will include visits to artists’ studios​​​ at Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC), Chang Theatre and some performing artists groups who share similar context.

The 3 full-day program will be co-organized and co-facilitated by Cambodian Living Arts and Ms. Ladda Kongdach, artist and producer, who will act as our local supporter and coordinator. For more information about Ms. Ladda, please refer to a website link attached here.

Mobility Grantees


Seilakvoatey LY

Seilakvoatey LY is a Cambodian arts and cultural project manager with experience in artist collaboration, youth engagement, and community-driven initiatives since 2017.

She began her journey with BonnPhum, first managing volunteers before leading BonnPhum_On_The_Move, bringing cultural celebrations nationwide. From 2020 to 2023, she served as Artist Manager at PlerngKob, overseeing artist collaborations and creative projects. Through her work with Cambodian Living Arts (CLA), she deepened her understanding of Cambodia’s arts ecosystem.

Seilakvoatey is dedicated to fostering platforms that celebrate Cambodian culture and empower local talent.

Vannak Vong

Vannak Vong is a dedicated artist whose creative work includes designing, performing, drawing, choreography, and teaching. He has been inspired by the arts since a young age. In 1997, he became a circus student at the Secondary School of Fine Arts, where he spent nine years training in circus arts, specializing in flexibility and aerial silk. He later earned a BA in Choreography of Art from the Royal University of Fine Arts in 2010. At the same time, he became involved in costume design.

In 2012, Vannak had the opportunity to work as an official circus teacher at the National Circus School of Cambodia, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts. That same year, he began participating in local and international circus festivals, workshops, exhibitions, and competitions, contributing to both costume design and circus performances. Vannak has collaborated with Amrita Performing Arts, designing for Cambodian contemporary dancers and working alongside international costume designers.

In 2019, he had the opportunity to pursue a Master of Arts in Costume Design at Ohio University, USA. After graduating in 2021, he returned to Cambodia to share his knowledge with the new Cambodian generation. Currently, Vannak works as a professional circus instructor, choreographer, and contemporary dancer at the Secondary School of Fine Arts. He also teaches costume design at the Royal University of Fine Arts.

KEAT Sokim

KEAT Sokim has founded Friend Music School since 2018 to offer traditional musical instruments and western musical instruments. He believes that through music people can come together and share their joy with music learning, teaching, and performing. For children, music has long term impact over them such as in their interpersonal communication through making different friends with the same interest. At the moment, he is expanding his work to 4 locations in Phnom Penh, 2 locations in Kandal province, and 1 in Siem Reap province. He also believes that arts and music can be applied more than performing or exhibiting but for self-expression and highlight of induvial thought of a society.
