Pin peat music
Tep Mari Mari is a master of several percussion instruments, and teaches a pin peat ensemble in Phnom Penh with CLA's sponsorship.
Master Tep Mari was well-known before Pol Pot as a rare female instrumentalist trained at the Palace, where she learned to accompany shadow puppet theater and Lakhom Khol opera. For several years she taught in the provinces. The Khmer Rouge killed her husband, but Mari survived by changing her name and using disguises. She has been a CLA Teacher since 2002.
