Master Phorn Dav was a member of the Kreung tribe in Ratanakiri Province. He was a master of the memm, a rare stringed instrument pictured on the walls of the Bayon temple, which is now played only by the Kreung ethnic minority group.
A leader in the community, Master Phorn Dav taught both the memm and a gong ensemble, as well as basic farming skills. He passed away in 2006.
