Iech Khan

"The Flying Takhe," Mahaori

Master Iech Khan is known throughout Cambodia as the Flying Takhe for his speed and style. His legendary instrument is decorated with the image of an eagle.

Years ago, Iech Khan left his teaching position at the Royal University of Fine Arts to live simply in the countryside. When CLA located him and his terminally ill wife, their home was a thatch shack in a banana grove far from the road. After his wife died in 2001, he moved to a Phnom Penh squatter neighborhood. He is now married to Master Noy Samnang.

Iech has been a CLA Master since 2002.
